About

Spanning an impressive 7,000 square meters, the green roof at LiUNA Local 183 Headquarters is a landmark achievement in Ontario’s sustainable architecture. With sections reaching a 50-degree slope, this project showcases the cutting edge of green roof engineering and design.

Installed over the course of six months, this expansive rooftop ecosystem incorporates six distinct ZinCo Build-ups, each tailored to support the unique environmental and structural demands of the site. The result is a thriving landscape featuring over 6,000 native perennials, carefully selected to enhance biodiversity, improve stormwater management, and contribute to the building’s energy efficiency.

As pioneers in the green roofing industry, we are incredibly proud to have played a role in this groundbreaking endeavor. The LiUNA Headquarters project demonstrates how innovative green infrastructure can redefine urban spaces—blending functionality, resilience, and natural beauty.
